How Can You Help?

Your gift ensures that children of the Coachella Valley will continue to experience the joy of discovery.  The museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that relies on the support of our community and friends to help us inspire tomorrow’s creative thinkers and leaders.

Individual Gift
Your gift helps us to meet the educational needs of the ethnically diverse Coachella Valley through relationship building with local organizations, businesses and foundations. Through this support we are able to offer low-cost programs for the community and museum memberships at no cost to low-income families.

Through our Camp and Field Trip sponsorship programs, we provide scholarships to low-income families and school classrooms that could not otherwise afford admission or program fees. Last year we served over 800 children on field trip scholarships, and 57 children received full camp scholarships.

Your gift will immediately be put to work supporting our educational mission!

Make a donation to CDMOD and provide a loving gift to someone special. Tributes are a celebration of life through a memorial tribute, by honoring an achievement, acknowledging a success, marking a birth date or remembering a passing. Your donation can create a lasting memory—to the people in your life and to the children of the Coachella Valley. Contact Kyle to create your own tribute at or for more information.

Stock Donations
Your gift of stock can provide a simple, tax-free opportunity for you to support CDMOD.

Planned Giving
Making a charitable contribution is an art – needs and wishes of the donor. Planned giving enables a donor to arrange charitable contributions in ways that maximize their personal objectives while minimizing after-tax cost. It can be as simple as making CDMOD a beneficiary or your estate. Depending on the assets and the gift of arrangement selected, a donor can expect to obtain some or all of the following benefits:

> Fulfill philanthropic goals.
> Reduce income tax through a deduction for the gift.
> Avoid capital gain tax on gifts of long-term appreciated property.
> Retain a stream of payments for life for the donor and other beneficiaries.
> Increase disposable income.
> Eliminate federal estate tax on property passing to charity upon the donor’s death.
> Reduce cost and time in estate settlement.

A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available for both businesses and individuals. Send kids to camp, support school tours, or support a festival, the possibilities are endless!

In-Kind Donations
In-Kind Donations are the donation of products, goods and services from the private sector to the charitable sector. The benefits of contributions of products, property, and services include:

> Tax savings—up to twice the cost of donated products*.
> Reduction of inventory handling costs.
> Positive public recognition.
> Supporting the communities where you do business.

*The United States Congress has provided a special rule under the federal tax law to encourage corporations to donate certain kinds of property to charitable 501c(3) organizations to be used “for the care of the ill, the needy, or infants.” See your tax specialist for more information.

Special Events Donations
Donations of products, services, and skills are the foundation to fundraising events. Your donation may be just what we need!
