We have four sessions available during the school year to suit everyone’s interests.

From STEM to music, garden to table, there is something new for everyone here at CDMOD!

  • Camps are organized by grade level to meet the developmental needs of our campers. Campers must be enrolled in the designated grade in the fall of the same year.
  • A completed Registration Form and full payment are required to enroll your child in camp.
  • Camp Sessions are open Monday through Friday.

We have 4 classes:

  • Hummingbirds: Must be enrolled in TK or Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Desert Tortoises: Must be enrolled in 1st or 2nd grade for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Roadrunners: Must be enrolled in 3rd or 4th grade for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Pronghorns: Must be enrolled in 5th or 6th grade for the 2019-2020 school year.

Meals and Snacks:

  • All the classes have a scheduled snack during the morning session and the afternoon session. 
  • CDMOD will no be provide snacks. Your child must be sent to camp with a snack.
  • Campers enrolled for a full-day session have a supervised lunchtime. CDMOD does not provide lunch for any camper. Please send your child to camp with a lunch that does not require refrigeration or heating.
  • If your child has food sensitivities/allergies, please include that information on your registration form so that we can make appropriate accommodations.

What your child needs for camp:

  • Comfortable clothing. Our camps are activity-oriented, please make sure your child is comfortable with clothes they can get messy in, and closed-toe shoes (sneakers are recommended) that are comfortable for walking.
  • Sunscreen. Please apply sunscreen before camp. You may send sunscreen along with your child for re-application.
  • Water. Please send your child with a filled water bottle daily as we will spend some time outside and it will be warm.
  • Snacks. Please send your child with a snack. If your child is attending camp all day, please provide morning snack and afternoon snack. 




Enrollment is available for morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions.

  • Half-Day $30
  • Single Day $45
  • Full-Week Half-Day $135
  • Full-Week Full-Day $215

Extended Care is available from 8 to 9 A.M., 12 to 1 P.M. and 4:00 to 5:30 P.M

  • Extended Care $10 (per Session)

For Full-Day sessions, lunch is required. CDMOD does not provide lunch for campers, we have lunch options available from Gelson’s Rancho Mirage.

  • Kid’s lunch $7.49 (plus Tax)


  • Fall Camp 2019 is open from November 25th to November 29th
    • Camp will be canceled November 28th for Thanksgiving Day.
  • Winter Camp 2019-2020 is open from December 19th to January 10th
    • Camp will be canceled December 25th for Christmas Day, December 31st for New Year’s Eve, and January 1st for New Year’s Day. 
  • All campers must be signed in and out every day by the authorized adult named in the registration form. CDMOD staff may ask for ID to ensure safety.
  • Please do not leave your child unattended in the lobby, the museum entrance, or the parking lot. 

Camp Hours

  • Morning Session starts at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 12:00 P.M.
  • Afternoon Session starts at 1:00 P.M. and ends at 4:00 P.M.
  • Full-day camp starts at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 4:00 P.M.


  • Morning drop-off is from 8:50 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. in the Lobby of the museum.
  • Afternoon drop-off is from 12:50 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Lobby of the museum. 


  • Morning pick-up is from 11:50 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Hands-On Learning Lab.
  • Afternoon pick-up is from 3:50 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the Hands-On Learning Lab.

Extended Care


  • Before Care is from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M.
  • Lunch Care if from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.
  • After Care is from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

    CDMOD Credit Statement: A refund is given only when the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert cancels the activity. CDMOD reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule programs. Credit is not given for absences.
